FUEL ENHANCER ADDITIVE QUESTIONARE > PRODUCT ACTION AND COMPOSITION
The market is fraught with different additives that claim the world and as such we understand the need for extensive scrutiny from your side. Based on this pre-qualification and the fact that we have gone through it many times with many different clients, we have created a questionnaire that, we believe, provides an extensive and exhaustive list of questions that need to be asked when evaluating the Centron products from a risk point of view. Here is a list of questions and from it you’ll see that we are not afraid to ask the difficult questions as our experience has proven that we have reasonable and acceptable, substantiated answers for them:

1. How long has the product been on the market?
13 Years, Centron Energy incorporated 1998, commercially available from 2001
2. Is the product biodegradable, safe to use with diesel / petrol / bio-fuels (B2,B10,B20), safe for tank storage, non-flammable and are these claims independently verified and certified?
Yes to all.
Refer to Annexure 11 - MSDS and Brenntag/MILSOLV Letters, SANS 342 and 1598 Test Results, European Union EN 590 for diesel.
3. Is the product a multi-functional fuel treatment product that actually reduces fuel consumption, carbon emissions and equipment maintenance?
Yes to all. Up to 15% ( MTN in Nigeria achieved a 20% reduction in fuel consumption – Annexure 6) Gem Diamonds – 13.5% reduction fuel consumption, 35% reduction in opacity (black smoke), CO2 reduction of 2612 tons - Annexure 3, phase 1 test at Jwaneng on CAT 777 reduced fuel consumption by 9.12% and opacity reduction of 41.3 - 53.3% and phase 2 generator test on CAT 700kvA reduced fuel consumption by 13.5% and opacity by 53.66% – Annexure 4a and 4b, etc, etc, etc.
4. Is the product a fuel itself i.e. containing no foreign substances, other than those that would be found in fuels normally?
Yes.

5. Does the product contain MBTEs, acetone, water, isopropyl or any other foreign fuel substances?
No. Centron contains no properties that are foreign to fuel.

6. Does the product “burn through clean” and leave no deposits of gums, varnishes etc?
Yes, 0.17Mg / Kg - SANS 342:2006 - 50 ppm and 500 ppm diesel.

7. Does the product have a lubricity rating for low sulphur fuels that exceeds an HFRR rating of 300 on 500ppm, 50ppm and 15ppm sulphur diesel?
Yes, 210 on 50ppm / 237 on 500 ppm - (max allowable 460 as per SANS 342:2006) ,50/500ppm diesel.

8. Does the product emulsify water in the fuel and use it to enhance the cleaning and combustion process?
Yes.

9. Does the product contain micro-cides, anti-soot, sludge and decarbonisation properties?
Yes.

10. Does the product reduce engine oil contamination via “blow-by” reduction?
Yes – 25% Reduction. The Society of Automotive Engineers stated that they have never seen such a dramatic reduction in blow-by. The enhanced combustion and the increased lubricity reduce blow – by.
